Thank you to Steve Tenhouse, CEO of Kirby Medical Center, for spending time with our students today!
Steve gave an inside look at what it means to lead a non-profit organization, why culture matters so much within a team, and how different roles and structures keep a business running smoothly. He talked of the importance of the legacy John and Mary Kirby established in founding Kirby.
Students even stepped into leadership themselves, role-playing as team leads and presenting their ideas to a mock “board of directors.” They practiced real-world decision-making and learned what kinds of questions need to be answered to truly add value to an organization.
Such an inspiring session that gave our future leaders a hands-on taste of what it’s like to be in the driver’s seat of a business!
